Jeff Wildung of Nassau, MN picked up the NLRA series win Thursday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Wildung took the lead on lap 10 after Brad Seng survived being struck by a lapped car a few laps prior. Wildung's win is his 13th career NLRA series triumph, tying him with Mitch Johnson for fifth on the all time list. its' also his second win at Norman County, the other coming in 2014, with his other eleven NLRA victories coming at the Viking Speedway. Dustin Strand finished second, with Seng, Jeremy Keller, and Don Shaw rounding out the top five. Seng's podium finish was more than enough to make him the fourth series point leader in five events so far this season. Seng will carry a 22 point lead over Shane Edginton into Friday nights' event at the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND. Brad Seng took the lead from Jeffrey Massingill on lap four, and went on to victory during night one of the NLRA double header at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. The wins is Seng's 32nd victory with the series, the most all time. The two-time series champion also closed his gap in the season long points race, as he'll head into night two at Norman County just two markers behind new point leaded Shane Edginton. Edginton is the third different point leader in four nights of action thus far this season, as former point leader Steffen Snare is just four points back in third. Winner at Norman County last July, Don Shaw, finished second, with Massingill, Mike Balcaen, and Jeff Wildung rounding out the top five. The races started just after seven pm, and were done at ten after nine. That fact coupled with the addition of Donny Schatz to what was already a stellar field, makes Thursday night at Norman County a can't miss. Remember you can by tickets online at ncraceway.com.

The NLRA is set to embark on a stretch of four races in as many nights, as three of four will take place during active fairs, while the other will mark the return to the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND.
On Wednesday night, June the 22nd and Thursday night, June the 23rd, the NLRA will headine the opening night events of the 121st Norman County Fair in Ada, MN, as the series is secheduled to make its' 17th and 18th appearances at the three-eighths mile oval.
The NLRA has released its' 2016 series schedule. The series 19th season features 19 rounds, starting on Saturday night, June the 11th at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND. The schedule also includes the return to the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND on Friday night, June the 24th, and a second appearance in West Fargo on Sunday night, July the 17th alongside the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association. This is the first time the Upper Midwest's two premier racing series have met on the same night, and at the same track (away from River Cities) since June 10th, 2007, when Jeremy Keller and Jason Linnell were winners at the Nodak Speedway, in Minot, ND. It's also the fourth time in the history of the two series that they'll share the same dirt, the other two occurrences happened at the Norman County Raceway in 1998, and again in 2001.
A pair of drivers broke winless streaks last week as Don Shaw won at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, and Dustin Strand won at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND. Shaw, driving his Shaw Trucking No. 42S, won is his second NLRA series feature, his first since June 17, 1999 at the River Cities Speedway. A pair of Bloomquist chassis shared the front row at the start, as Steffen Snare, in the High Mark Snowmobile Rentals No. 71S, and Ricky Weiss in the Derrick's Sandblasting No. 7, lead the field to the green, with Weiss taking the point as the green flag flew. Snare completed a slide job on Cody Skytland for second at the end of the first lap, allowing Weiss to pull away, and Shaw to take second from both of Snare and Skytland's No. 75 Langdon Implement MasterSbuilt by JMR.
Don Shaw of Ham Lake, MN, parked his No. 42S in victory lane on Thursday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. The win is his second NLRA series victory, the first coming on June 17, 1999 at the River Cities Speedway. Shaw also becomes just the fourth different winner in NLRA series competition this season. Shaw took the lead from Ricky Weiss on Lap 10, and lead the rest of the way. Cody Skytland finished second, with Weiss, Donny Schatz, and point leader Mike Balcaen rounding out the top five. Dustin Strand was the hard charger, improving twelve spots, finishing eighth, after starting 20th. Mike Balcaen increased his point lead, and will head into Saturday nights' race at the Jamestown Speedway, in Jamestown, ND, with a 24 point lead over Dustin Strand, with defending series champion Brad Seng just eight points back of Strand in third. The NLRA series takes to the track two times this week with races at two very different race tracks, first On Thursday night, July the 30th, at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, and on Saturday night, August the 1st at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND. First on Thursday night, the series makes its' third and final appearance this season, and 16th overall at the three-eighths mile oval on the Norman County Fairgrounds. Ricky Weiss in the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist, swept the fair races in June, with Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Rivinius Ranch MasterSbuilt by JMR, and Dustin Strand, driver of the Q&Z Plumbing & Heating No. 71, also collecting top tens on both nights.
Ricky Weiss in the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist, won his fifth NLRA series feature of the season Saturday night at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN, the 18th series win of his career. Weiss and Dustin Strand, driver of the Q&Z Plumbing & Heating No. 71, shared the front row at the start, with Strand winning the drag race to turn one at the start. Strand lead the first five laps, before Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom took advantage of a lap six restart to pass Ricky Weiss for second, and start reeling in Strand for the lead, which he took on lap nine.
The NLRA embarked on a grueling five race stretch last week, and only saw one event lost to rain, and two different winners. The action began an hour late on Wednesday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, as a rain storm that his just before six o'clock. Ricky Weiss, driver of the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist, pulled away from a hard charging Don Shaw, and lead the final 21 laps to win his 14th career NLRA main event. The win gave Weiss sole posession of fourth on the all-time wins list, breaking a tie he held with Mitch Johnson.
Ricky Weiss lead 23 of 25 laps for his second win in as many nights, and 15th career NLRA feature win Thursday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Dustin Strand and Zach Johnson put on the best battle on the track as they swapped second and third for most of the last half of the race, with Strand coming out on top. Steffen Snare and Donny Schatz rounded out the top five. Strand's efforts make him the new point leader by just two points over Mike Balcaen heading into the series' debut at the I-94 Raceway in Fergus Falls, MN on Friday night.
